Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I am in-network with many major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Ambetter, and select Medicare plans. I also accept some EAPs.
Coverage can vary depending on your specific plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify your mental health benefits, copay, and deductible.
How do I know if you’re in-network?
The best way to confirm is to call the number on the back of your insurance card or check your member portal. Insurance plans can vary widely, even within the same company.
You can also reach out, and I can help you determine next steps or verify eligibility through the platforms I use.
Do you offer self-pay options?
Yes. Self-pay (private pay) sessions are available for clients who prefer not to use insurance or do not have in-network coverage. Please contact me directly for current rates.
Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?
I currently offer secure telehealth sessions for clients across Florida. Telehealth allows you to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space without the need to travel.
Do you work with children and teens?
Yes, I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents. I use developmentally appropriate approaches, including play-based and expressive techniques, to help younger clients process emotions and build coping skills.
I also collaborate with parents to support progress and strengthen the parent-child relationship.
What can I expect in the first session, and what if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure about starting therapy. The first session is simply a chance for us to talk about what’s been going on, what’s bringing you in, and what you’re hoping for. There is no pressure to share everything or make any decisions right away. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable, answer any questions you have, and see together if therapy feels like a good fit for you.
What issues do you help with?
I work with children, teens, and adults navigating a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety and overthinking
Depression and low mood
Trauma and past experiences
Grief and loss
Life transitions and stress
Relationship challenges
Self-esteem and identity
Parenting struggles
Behavioral issues
How long are sessions and how often will we meet?
Sessions are typically 50-55 minutes and are usually scheduled weekly, especially at the beginning of treatment. Frequency can be adjusted over time based on your needs and goals.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a fee, as that time is reserved specifically for you.
What is your approach to therapy?
My approach is grounded, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I prioritize creating a calm, supportive environment where clients can feel safe enough to explore, process, and grow.
I integrate evidence-based practices, including CBT, EMDR, CPT, DBT, somatic techniques, and self-compassion work, tailoring each session to support both immediate coping and long-term healing.
How do I get started?
Taking the first step can feel overwhelming, but the process is simple.
Reach out by phone or email, and I will personally connect with you to answer any questions and help schedule your initial appointment. From there, we’ll find a time that works for you and review any next steps.
