Threads of Hope Therapy was created from a belief that even in the most painful and overwhelming moments, healing is still possible. Life experiences, especially those rooted in trauma, loss, or instability, can leave people feeling disconnected from themselves, their relationships, and their sense of safety. My work is centered on helping clients gently begin to reconnect those pieces.

I’m Heidi Ryan, LMHC-QS, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor based in Sarasota, Florida. Before founding Threads of Hope Therapy, I spent over a decade at the Child Protection Center, where I worked closely with children, adolescents, adults, and families impacted by sexual abuse, physical abuse, trauma, and problematic sexual behaviors. During my time there, I also served in leadership and supervisory roles, helping develop programs, train clinicians, and support trauma-informed care across the organization.

That experience deeply shaped how I practice today. It reinforced my belief that healing does not happen through pressure or urgency, but through safety, trust, and a steady therapeutic relationship. It also showed me how powerful it is when clients feel truly seen, not just for what they have been through, but for who they are becoming.

Threads of Hope Therapy reflects that philosophy. The “threads” represent the different parts of a person’s story—some painful, some resilient, all meaningful—that can be gently woven back together over time into something more grounded, connected, and hopeful.

Today, I provide therapy for children, teens, adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, behavioral challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in evidence-based care, with a focus on helping clients feel safe enough to explore, process, and grow at their own pace.
