Our Approach

We provide individualized, trauma-informed care designed to meet you where you are. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and we thoughtfully tailor each session to your goals, experiences, and strengths.

Our work integrates evidence-based practices with a warm, relational approach. We prioritize creating a safe space where you can explore your experiences, develop practical tools, and move toward healing and growth.

Whether you’re seeking support for trauma, anxiety, depression, or life transitions, we are here to walk alongside you with care and intention.

Heidi Ryan, LMHC-QS

Heidi Ryan, LMHC-QS, is the founder of Threads of Hope Therapy in Sarasota, Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor with over a decade of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and families through a wide range of emotional and behavioral challenges.

Heidi specializes in trauma-informed care, with extensive experience supporting individuals impacted by abuse, grief, and complex life experiences. She is certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and thoughtfully integrates evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, CBT, CPT, and DBT, alongside somatic practices and self-compassion work. Through this integrative approach, she helps clients process difficult experiences, restore a sense of safety, and build lasting self-worth.

In addition to her clinical work, Heidi is actively involved in the broader mental health field and has presented at local and national conferences on topics including trauma, shame, self-esteem, emotional regulation, burnout, compassion fatigue, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Her work reflects a dual focus on client healing and clinician sustainability, highlighting both the impact of trauma and the importance of maintaining emotional wellbeing in helping professions. She remains committed to advancing trauma-informed practice and engaging with current research and clinical developments in the field.

In addition to her specialty, Heidi works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and self-esteem concerns. She understands that not all struggles come from major trauma, and that everyday emotional challenges deserve thoughtful, compassionate care.

Heidi’s approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered. She gently helps clients build awareness of their thoughts, reconnect with their bodies, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves. Through Threads of Hope Therapy, her goal is to help clients untangle what feels overwhelming and begin to weave new patterns of healing, resilience, and hope.
